Jennifer

Jennifer believes that all horses can benefit from and be improved by the practice of dressage. One of her strengths as a teacher is not only a love and passion for the sport, but the desire to constantly improve, learn and grow. She works hard each day to seek excellence in the saddle, to coach each individual to become the best horsewoman they can, and see that the horses receive the best care.

Jennifer was on the backs of horses well before she could walk, only months old, a passion that would grab a hold of her and never let go. Making her Grand Prix debut in 2011, she has ridden dressage competitively for that last twenty years. In 2009, during her first year at FEI, she was CDS Northern Regional AA Champion Prix St-Georges (PSG). She was ranked twelfth nationally by USDF at Prix St-Georges AA and Champion nationally for USDF All-Breeds Trakehner PSG AA. Riding at the USDF Region 7 Championships she placed fourth and fifth at the California Dressage Society Championship at PSG. Jennifer is a USDF bronze and silver medalist and has shown successfully from Training to Grand Prix with many blue ribbons and high point awards. She has also received the CDS Gem Rider Awards - Diamond, Sapphire, and Ruby. Spending several years as an Assistant Trainer at the esteemed Rancho Riding Club in Rancho Santa Fe, she honed her skills in working with over twenty-three different horses and clients on a day to day basis. She is now working with her own clients at Sycamore Canyon Stables in Poway, California.

Jennifer graduated with Honors from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and Management, with an emphasis in Equine Studies. She is incredibly grateful to the hands-on program offered at Davis - which allowed her the opportunity to learn how to float teeth, trim hooves, draw blood, artificially inseminate mares....and even milk cows!

Jennifer credits her wonderful working knowledge base to her teachers, the great voices in the background of her success - FEI "I" judge Jane Weatherwax, Grand Prix trainer and rider Tanya Vik, and FEI "O" judge Axel Steiner. Other fantastic trainers have included the Etiole International Academy of Riding in Rhede, Germany, Chelsey Sibley, Natalie Rooney, and the late Victor Hugo-Vidal. And of course, her parents, who are almost as horse-crazy as she.
